Description

The 31 acre site was sold in 1931 by Lady Carter to Bebington & Bromborough Council for £14,000. A park was opened to the public with a pitch and putt course at 3 pence a round and a 9 hole golf course followed in 1933.
The Men’s Section opened in 1935 and Brackenwood Ladies Golf Club opened in 1936.
Between 1942 and 1947, during World War II, the course was ploughed and farmed for cereal crop then re-established once the war ended. In 1976 Lord Leverhulme donated farmland and the current 18 hole course officially opened.
The Club has over 65 lady members, players and social, making a very friendly,competitive and committed golf club at Brackenwood.
