Title

High Legh

Description

The Club was founded in 1998 on a parcel of land leased from High Legh Estate, owned by the Cornwall Legh family. The Legh family can trace ownership and occupation of land in High Legh ever since the birth of Efward de Liga, born c.1095 AD.
The Golf Club was built on farm land (permanent pasture), leased initially to Gareth Evans and Matthew Cummins (G & M Sports), with construction commencing in 1997.
On 4 January 2011 the lease of the Club was bought by Vaughan Leisure Limited who, over the following years, has invested heavily with new machinery, a re-vamped Club house, professional green-keeping staff and an enthusiastic approach to retaining and increasing the Club membership. At the same time the name of the Club was changed back to The High Legh Park Golf Club. The new owners re-opened the 9-hole course at the North end of the site as the Academy course.
In 2013, the course was changed significantly to accommodate the planned relocation of an extended Driving Range and Professionals’ shop.
