Ashton-on-Mersey

Title

Ashton-on-Mersey

Description

A huge, granite stone by the first tee tells you that Ashton-on-Mersey Golf Club was founded in 1897 in the days when the horse that pulled the mower was indispensible. Since then the club has grown, surviving two World Wars and a fire that burned down the old wooden clubhouse in August 1990. Warmth and hospitality embraced all who entered the old building and that sense of welcome hangs from every nook of the new structure which re-opened exactly one year later.

The clubhouse is impressive and within there is food and drink to satisfy the hungry and thirsty golfer or visitor. The comfortable lounge, with an extended dining area, has a semi-circle bar and functions for up to 120 people may be accommodated.
