1945-Prestbury:The Captain's Bell
The Home Guard platoon based at Prestbury G.C. and led by Kenneth Stoker, presented this ship's bell to the club at the end of the war. It was adopted as The Captain's Bell by the club.
1943-Wartime damage to course is repaired....by PoWs
West Cheshire G.C. suffered significant damage from enemy bombing, including the loss of the clubhouse. Despite the repair work by PoWs, the club did not survive the war.
