Ian Patey, of Sandiway, a previous winner in 1946 when a member of Hayling Island, was narrowly defeated in the final.

Harold Humphreys win County Championship at Prestbury, his home club

1959-J.T. Jones wins first of 3 consecutive county championships
Jack Jones of Upton-by-Chester wins his first county title, and in doing so secures a record win of 9&8 over his club-mate M.Wesley. He was to win again in both 1960 and '61, to secure an unprecedented treble.
