Born in Pontypridd, Jamie Donaldson's family moved to Cheshire and he joined Macclesfield Golf Club as a junior.

Jamie rapidly established himself as a leading young player, and won the 1997 Welsh Amateur Championship. He followed this up in 2000 by winning the Welsh Open Amateur Strokeplay Championship, after which he turned professional.

Jamie quickly established himself on the European Tour, where he was to record 3 wins.

His greatest moment came in the 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles, where his approach shot to within inches of the hole secured his match against Keegan Bradley and a memorable win for Europe.
