Description

Sale Golf Club was founded in 1913 and the 18th hole of the course opened on Good Friday, 10th April 1914.
The driving force behind the club's formation, Daniel Mylrea, was also instrumental in the formation of the CUGC and its first Hon Secretary.
The current course format, which was finished in 2001, offers a gently undulating parkland course that presents an enjoyable challenge to both high and low handicap golfers.
Club Professional Richard Burton was the last club professional to win The Open (in 1939 at the Old Course, St Andrews), which he retained until 1946! Burton also played in the Ryder Cup on three occasions.
Sale GC has a large and successful playing membership, and can offer plenty of opportunities for both competitive and friendly Men’s, Ladies, Junior and mixed golf for all ability levels.
