Description
An account of the resource
Royal Liverpool was formed in 1869 and this world-renowned club has hosted many Opens and championships.
Here we have a recent aerial photo, the clubhouse, the 1921 GB&I v USA match which subsequently became the Walker Cup, an old postcard of the links, footage from the 1956 Open and a recent image of the 12th hole known as "Hilbre" after the island which sits in the estuary adjacent to the course. And finally a 2 page article from 1924 showing Harry Colt's changes to the course (Illustrated Sporting & Dramatic News)
